It has been exactly one year since DQS CFS joined the United Nations Global Compact, a voluntary initiative to promote sustainable development and good corporate citizenship. By signing the Global Compact, DQS not only committed to upholding the ten Global Compact Principles, but also to communicating on our sustainability measures every year. We are glad to announce that our first progress report is now available on the Global Compact website.
Our so-called Communication-on-Progress (COP) Report outlines the measures DQS CFS has taken in 2016 to ensure compliance with the principles of the Global Compact and informs our stakeholders on the progress we have made in terms of corporate citizenship.
Four topics build the core of the report: respect for human rights, safety and fairness in the workplace, the protection of the environment as well as the fight against corruption. In each of these four sections, we have described the relevant policies of DQS, the measures we have taken to ensure compliance, as well as the indicators that enable us to track progress.
What is also included in the COP Report is the renewal of our commitment by the top management. To Dr. Sied Sadek, Managing Director (CEO) of DQS CFS GmbH, the renewal was both a natural and a necessary step: “As a certification and auditing body, transparency is one of our key values. Participating in the Global Compact enables us on communicate on our sustainability performance in a structured and efficient manner. As such, it is an invaluable tool in order to be accountable towards our clients, business partners and the public.”
